Raul Viceral
Raul Viceral has done storyboarding and design work for NASA's Ames Research Center, and on The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age video game for Electronic Arts (EA). While earning his bachelor's degree in Digital Visual Media (2004), Raul had the honour of being mentored/tutored in the art of visual storytelling by Mark Andrews, the head of story for Pixar's Academy Award-winning movie The Incredibles. An animator and digital artist, Raul's experience includes having been a lead animator for a children's 'edu-tainment' CD-ROM company, Modern Media Ventures, as well as co-founding the multimedia design corporation, The DigitalDeli, where he was the VP of Animation.Working as a freelance story and animatic artist, Raul designed and storyboarded several television commercials in the Bay Area, and for three years served as a Course Director at Expression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville, California, where he taught classes in storyboarding, character design, figure drawing, and traditional pencil animation. In 2006 Raul left California, moving to Saskatchewan, Canada, to help Chrystene Ells in bringing her ‘Sisu’ vision to life. In addition to providing over 800 unique hand-drawn storyboards for the production, Raul had a hand in everything from auditions to prop construction to location scouting. Having quickly been adopted by the Saskatchewan entertainment industry, Raul has been kept busy for the past three years as the in-house Animator and Graphic Artist for Global Television, as well as providing ongoing artwork in the form of storyboards, animatics and concept art for Partners in Motion, Tyrell Media, and other Saskatchewan production companies. He currently lives in Regina with his wife Chrystene, two Blue Heeler dogs (Django and Moxie) and a cat (Allis Chalmers).
